Overview

Our 4 Days Uganda Gorilla and Golden Monkey tracking tour is the best short-term gorilla safari in Uganda that gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the rare Mountain gorillas and Golden Monkeys in their habitat of Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga National Parks.

This tour will take you through the central and southern parts of Uganda giving you a chance as well to drive through the traditional towns of Uganda, cross the Equator line twice, and meet the local communities of Uganda along the way to misty, magical tropical rain forests of Bwindi National park where you will have a chance to track and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas the gentle giants roaming in their habitat the forests of Bwindi you will spend one hour with them once you find them from Bwindi you will visit Mgahinga Gorilla National park for Golden monkey tracking experience.

This tour is open to any date throughout the year and depending on availability we will book you for a trek in either Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, or Ruhija, this tour can be tailored to best fit your budget and interests ranging from accommodation requirements, transport, and meals throughout the tour.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Entebbe – Arrival at the Airport

You will be picked up by our safari guide from either a guest house/Lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.

This journey is about 8-9 hours drive but very enjoyable as you will be driving through various local communities and towns along the road, the drive also takes you through the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of Kigezi region. You will also have an opportunity to cross the equator where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and equator experience then you will drive to Mbarara for en-route lunch after proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for overnight.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Cottages.

Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.

Day 2

Gorilla tracking day and after transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through the tropical rainforest of Bwindi with your ranger guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling to be with these beautiful endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Day 3

Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga.

After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join others for a Golden Monkey trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts during your Uganda Golden Monkey Trekking Tour.

Once this is done, you will trek through the montane rain forest of Mgahinga Mountain with your ranger guides to find the Golden Monkeys, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable. After the trek, you will drive back to the lodge for relaxing and overnight.

Meal Plan: Full Board/with packed Lunch

Day 4

Drive back to Entebbe/Kampala to end the tour.

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda today. You will use the same Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour route as to when you came through.

Meal Plan: Half Board.

Drive time: 9-10 hours’ drive.
