Overview

Uganda Gorilla tracking and lake Bunyonyi tour 3 days in Uganda, this will give you a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the rare Mountain gorillas in their habitat then after you will visit a historical lake of over one thousand islands each with a history attached to it.

This tour will take you through the central and southern parts of Uganda giving you a chance as well to drive through the traditional towns of Uganda, crossing the Equator line twice and meeting the local communities of Uganda along the way to misty, magical tropical rain forests of Bwindi National park where you will have a chance to track and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas the gentle giants roaming in their habitat the forests of Bwindi you will spend one hour with them once you find them then after your gorilla trek you will visit Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe boat ride and village walks.

This tour is open to any dates throughout the year and depending on availability you we will book for you your trek in either Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga or Ruhija, as well this tour can be tailor to best fit in your budget and interests ranging from accommodation requirements, transport and meals throughout the tour.

Day 1: Scenic drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi Forest

You will be picked up by our safari guide from either a guest house/Lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.

This journey is about 8-9 hours’ drive but very enjoyable as you will be driving through various local communities and towns along the road, the drive as well takes you through the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of Kigezi region. You will as well have an opportunity to cross the equator where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and equator experience then you will drive to Mbarara for en-route lunch after proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking day and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Overnight.

After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Tracking Tour. Once this is done, you will track through the tropical rain forest of Bwindi your ranger guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Morning Canoe Boat Ride and Drive back to Entebbe/Kampala to end the tour.

After your breakfast, you will do a canoe boat ride on the lake to visit various islands, Lake Bunyonyi is one of the three Lava damned Lake which was formed when lava flowing from one of the volcanoes blocked a river channel and water was forced to flow back hence filling the space to create lake Bunyonyi. Bunyonyi locally means small birds due to the abundance of small birds in this area. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in Africa. A person visit Lake Bunyonyi for its beauty and is one of the best places to relax after your gorilla trek, you will then be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda today. You will use the same Uganda Gorilla Tracking Tour route as to when you came through.
