Detailed Itinerary
Your 3-day Rwanda gorilla safari begins upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, where our safari guide will meet you. If you’ve arrived the day before, you will be picked up from your lodge or guesthouse. From the airport, you will embark on a scenic 2-3 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in northwestern Rwanda.
This picturesque drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda offers a glimpse into local communities, and the lush landscapes are often referred to as “the Switzerland of Africa.” Enjoy a stop for photos and sightseeing along the way.
Upon arrival, check in at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, where you will spend the night. This mid-range lodge offers comfort and warmth, with full-board meals to fuel you for the exciting days ahead.

The highlight of your 3-day Rwanda gorilla safari is the gorilla tracking day. After an early breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Then, join other trekkers and begin your expedition with a team of experienced ranger guides.
Trekking through the montane forests, you may encounter various wildlife species, including birds and unique tree species, enriching your experience. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, but the reward of coming face to face with these magnificent endangered creatures will be a truly unforgettable experience.In the evening, return to Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for relaxation, full-board meals, and reflection on the day’s adventure.

Drive Back to Kigali & Genocide Museum Visit
On the final day of your 3-day Rwanda gorilla safari, enjoy breakfast at the lodge before driving back to Kigali. You will take the same scenic route back, with an optional stop at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you can learn about Rwanda’s history and pay respects. Alternatively, a city tour can also be arranged.
Afterward, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Kigali or transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
